Fun at the lake!

Memorial Day was so much fun.

the kids had a blast...Dakota LOVED riding on the tube, then on the boat, and just playing on the shore. He went to hang out with Daddy who was fishing and told his Daddy this "I just love how the wind makes that sound on the water and then the water sounds so nice" ♥ Awww!

Lily couldn't get enough of throwing shells, rocks, and sticks in the lake.

Flags twenty eleven?

Just a bit of randomness here....

Lily has been seeing flags everywhere with the upcoming holiday weekend. And she pipes up, "Mommy, LOOK! I see flags twenty eleven." It took me a second to realize what she was saying...but I finally understood. See I like to browse Old Navy when they have their sales....so, we have quite an assortment of Flag shirts...and the latest are our matching Flag 2011 T-shirts for vacation. I guess I visit Old Navy too much...but hey! on the bright side, Lily is recognizing double digits!!

There's a positive in EVERYTHING!

At the Boardwalk

Dakota (and Me in the reflection!) having fun on the boardwalk

whew!! It's a new week...and we are closer to the end of school (5 more days!!) and our family vacation!!

I can't wait. I've been browsing online for fun things to do with the family...and getting tips from friends and family. We are heading to the Gatlinburg/ Pigeon Forge area. We already have lodging reserved!

I'm so excited...ready to leave now!

We did have some fun this weekend...we headed to Louisiana Boardwalk...visited a few stores and had lunch at Fuddruckers. The kids LOVED it!! And we finished just in time...the rain came down and it poured almost the whole way back home.

Gotta love older siblings

Though Dakota doesn't realize it...Lily truly does look up to him...now, I'm not talking about a height difference...I'm talking about how she watches (and mimics) almost everything he does.
And here's proof:

Pink or Blue?!

Okay..Here's the update from me...I had the sonogram done first...The OB who did the test for me said she gives the baby an A+. Little Princess Leia decided to uncross HER ankles for all of a few seconds and we saw the 3 lines indicating a girl. She was very ladylike...hands in a praying position in front of her face, of course, and legs crossed at the ankles. She is weighing in at 9 oz at almost 19 weeks.
As for the fetal echo, the pediatric cardiologist did this test for me...she was very informative of everything we were seeing on the screen. The baby's heart looks PERFECT!!! I couldn't ask for a better looking heart ♥ I knew right off the bat that things were good. When looking at Lily's heart echos, there was red (blood) and blue (oxygen) mixed up all over the place due to the Large hole in her heart..but with this baby...red was where it was supposed to be and blue where it was supposed to be. I was so excited!! Heart rate was good 148.
Overall, a fantastic appointment...and I have quite an active Little girl....she was all over the place...but with her ankles crossed :P
I am home and absolutely EXHAUSTED!! super long day.

We are still deciding on names...but since my family are BIG fans of Star Wars, we are calling her Princess Leia for now...Lily wants to name her Kitty Meow...but we will see about that name selection.

What do you think?!

Baby#3...18 weeks

Tomorrow is the BIG Day!

I go to Dallas to have a sonogram and fetal echo of Baby #3. I am a teeny bit anxious about it...and whole lot eager. The echo will be done to ensure this baby doesn't have a heart defect likes Lily. And the sonogram just to check the growth of baby...and to hopefully let Mommy know whether we should plan for boy or girl!

so what do you think?

Girl or Boy?

Say What ?!?!?!?

Lily is so random!
We went outside to sit in the hammock for a bit...she is pointing out the trees, the leaves, the birdies and the clouds. Well, the clouds are moving quite quickly across the sky..so I asked her, "where are those clouds going?" and she replies, "To church!"

this comes just after about a week ago...we saw some cows running through the pasture off of I-20...and I tell the kids "Look at those cows run! I wonder where they are going?" And Lily pipes up with, " to McDonald's!"

Makes My Monday: Major Milestone

This could be the best of all Monday makers (until it happens for Lily and Baby #3)

Dakota asked Jesus into his heart this weekend. It is such a precious moment for parent and child. Dakota has been talking alot about "clean heart" and "dirty heart"...I had asked him a few questions about it all and he seemed to have the right answers at that time, but then would change the subject to something else but a few seconds later. So, we have been waiting, watching, and listening. Finally....Friday evening after baths...Dakota asked Daddy if he would help him pray to Jesus and ask him to come into his heart and make it all clean. Jed and Dakota talked for awhile...and then Kota came out of his room all smiles telling Myself, Aunt Tammie, and Lily that he prayed and asked Jesus into his heart. Truly incredible!

My handsome Kota..way back when

You never know what the future holds for your child....but I feel that Dakota's future will be onward and upward from here. Pray for Dakota as he embarks on this glorious adventure. He's following Jesus and I know that's the best person to be following.

And now some updates from us:
*Aunt Tammie has returned home to Florida...I already miss her. She helped me stay on top of housework while she was here.
*I have hit the 18 week mark with this pregnancy....I think I am feeling the baby move around abit :) We have our fetal echo and sonogram for baby on the 13Th...only 4 more days. And we should find out the gender of baby, too. Praying all goes well with the fetal echo. This is just precautionary due to Lily's congenital heart defect that required open heart surgery.
*Dakota has 3 weeks and 1 day left of school!!
*and...we are just under 6 weeks away from our Summer vacation to Tennessee!! I can't wait!!

So.....what makes your Monday? Share and link up with Cheryl from Twinfatuation to read about more Monday makers.

Legoland fun

Sorry...with sister in town from Florida and my dealing with what I think is a head cold or pretty severe allergies...I haven't had much time to update the blog.

This past Friday, we took the kids to Legoland Discovery Center in Dallas. They had a great time....well, we all did!

Here are some pictures for you to EnJoy!
