We have been back in our house 1 week. I love being back in our house. I think Leia is adjusting nicely. The big kids are.
Dakota turned 6 years old on Saturday. I can't believe I now have a 6 year old. It seems as if just yesterday he was born. The phrase of the weekend was "I can do it...I'm 6 now, Mom!" It's bittersweet! Although, it's nice to hear he is being more independent, I don't care to think that my baby is now growing up.

Jump Rope for Heart

Dakota will be joining his classmates and school for the Jump Rope for Heart Event.
They will be learning about how to take care of their heart and jumping rope to raise money and heart awareness.
The school has allowed us to set up a webpage to help each student reach their goal. Here is Dakota's page. You can visit and donate and/or track his progress!
The Jump Rope for Heart Event is March 5-9, 2012.
Donations should be turned in by February 15, 2012.

H.O.M.E.

We are home!!
And here is the almost finished product...new floors, new texture and paint to ceilings and walls...It almost feels like a new house. When I have more time, I'll share some pictures of the kitchen. The floor is almost finished in there and it has a new coat of paint as well. :)

I can see the light..

We are on the home stretch...It's almost finished. The contractors are done. We are just doing some finishing touches to the house (mainly the living room) before we put the new floors down.
So, if all goes as planned, we should be back home by the end of this weekend.

I'm so happy!!

The kiddos so far in 2012

We are still thriving...and Leia is getting quite the personality. I'm still waiting for that full belly laugh. But for now, I'm content with the full body smiles :)

Lily loves her sister. I'm sure Leia loves hers, too...but she could do without the smothering.

Dakota has lost more teeth..I think we are at 6 teeth lost now...he's lost 2 since the new year.

Still under construction

Here is a picture of my kitchen.
As you can see, it's still under construction. On Monday, it will be 2 full weeks since we vacated the house for repairs.
All is going good. The kiddos are adapting nicely. Leia has even slept through the night a few times *YAY*
I am hoping that the workers will be finished soon...because you know the saying "There's no place like Home" ? It's very TRUE! :)
We were hoping they'd rip the old cabinets out, but they were able to save them. You see, if the old cabinets were out, then I'd room to accommodate a dishwasher *squee*

Hope all my wonderful friends and family had a great 2011 and now a fabulous 2012.
I really won't be on for the next 2-3 weeks. We have our foundation repaired. We have a pier and beam house, so they are going to be cutting all the floors out and replacing beams and joyces ...oh! y'all get the drift. I don't need to bore y'all any more.
