My little girl is growing up. On Saturday, Lilyann will be 9 months old. It is hard to believe that she is already 9 months...even though it has been a long 9 months.

Lilyann and Dakota~~August 17, 2008

I just thought that i would tell you...Dakota LOVES trains. He loves watching them and playing with them. He loves Thomas...we can't go to the store without his making some mention of Thomas the Train. So i changed the background for Dakota...trains!

Hello again to all our friends and family. Life here at the Smith house is going good. Lilyann is crawling...well, army crawling. She gets up on all fours and then lays on her belly and uses her arms to drag herself to where she wants to go. She is getting around pretty good...and she is getting faster at getting places. Lilyann has cut 2 teeth since the beginning of this month. Which helps with her feeding herself. She is getting to be independent. She wants to eat like everyone else, and not be fed from a spoon. Her favorite foods right now are diced apples and cheese. Lilyann is a great eater!

Dakota is growing up so fast. He changes everyday. He likes to wear his cowboy boots or flip flops (i know what a drastic difference!). I have already mentioned his love of trains...he is also enjoying puzzles. He has a huge floor puzzle of a barn with animals that he enjoys putting together (with mommy or daddy's help).

The kids are growing up fast... hope you enjoyed the pictures.

All Clear

Miss Lilyann~~8 months old

Lilyann with Dr. Penn Laird, her cardiologist

Hello to all:
About 7 months ago, our lives changed forever. I never thought that almost 7 months after finding out that my daughter had a Congenital Heart Defect and was failing to thrive, that i would ever be posting this now. But there is a God! With God, prayer, and the knowledgeable cardiologists and surgeons, Lilyann's heart is perfect. The hole in her heart is gone....and she was given the "all clear" from her cardiologist today!!
Dr. Penn said that if he didn't already know that Lilyann had had surgery to repair her VSD, that he would of never known that she had a heart condition from looking at the results of her echo. He said that her heart looks great. He is very pleased with her recovery and he has given us a thumbs up.
We no longer will see the cardiologist every 3 months. We are now on the once a year routine visit list. Lily doesn't have to go back to the Dr until she is 2 yrs old!!
While sitting and listening to the Dr, all i could think was "wow!! my baby girl is all better...this is so awesome!! God is good!!"
Thank you all for your prayers for Lilyann and for our family. Lilyann has been through so much....which has all made her one strong little girl. Lily is going to do something great one day...all thanks to the prayers of friends and family and thanks to God.
