Progess made!!

Leia....38 wks 4 days

All the walking this week really paid off...Today's dr's appt gave me the results of 1 cm dilated and 60% effaced!
Induction is still scheduled for early Monday morning...unless something happens this weekend. I don't think I've ever been this much effaced with the other pregnancies, so things COULD happen.

I had a growth scan/ultrasound this morning as well...to check baby's weight and the fluids.
Baby is estimated to weigh 7 lbs 9 oz....which is great considering I have gestational diabetes. Baby is in position and ready to go.

still here....waiting not so patiently

Is it October 3rd yet??!?!??!!?

yes, this momma is impatient and a teeny bit uncomfortable!

I'm so ready for baby to be here...just to have my body back. The kids are excited...well, Dakota is. Lily is still a bit uncertain about it all.

I'm still here...just hanging on..and hoping with each and every contraction that THIS COULD BE IT!

38 wks

37 wks 3 days

We are officially 38 weeks pregnant!! and boy am I feeling like it!

Guess what I got today? An induction date! If Leia hasn't made her debut by Oct 3rd, then that's the day I am having her.

She is still head down (good girl!) and was a bit feisty today....her heart rate was a little high, so I was hooked up to the monitor for a while just to make sure ALL was okay.
I have 1 last sonogram on Friday to check baby's weight and my fluids. And depending on whether I am dilated anymore, I will either be admitted on Sunday evening or early Monday morning.
It's so nice to have an end in sight. :)

This momma is TIRED!

Head down and 2 weeks to go!

Lily with her "baby"

Me with the onesie/shirt Dakota made for Leia

yes! you read that title right!!
Leia has finally decided to cooperate and she is now head down. Way to make mommy and the doctor worry...I don't know when she turned. But on Monday evening, I swore she was re enacting "Empire Strikes Back". Contractions were 3-4 minutes apart and lasted for over an hour. Thankfully, they tapered off.

Tuesday was our appointment. It was originally scheduled for Thursday, but the office made a mistake and called me in yesterday...which was fine. It was a great appt, with even better news! :)

We are currently at 37 wks 3 days. Baby is doing good. Blood sugar stuff is going well...but blood pressure is a bit borderline.

We took the kids to a sibling class on Monday evening (before all the contractions started)...and they got a tour of the hospital and nursery, were taught how to swaddle a baby, change diapers, and got to do a craft for their new sister.

From the mouth of Babes

Finally!
After weeks, and months without a good rainfall...we are under a severe thunderstorm warning! I've never been so excited for a storm.

We knew it hadn't really RAINED in a while; but didn't realize how long til Lily spoke up from the backseat today. Jed and I were talking about the fierce looking rain clouds moving in...and Lily pipes up with "God is giving us rain...so we can watch the fireworks tonight!" Jed and I were both puzzled. Then we put two and two together....The last major rain storm we had was 4th of July evening. It poured, lightning and thundered...so much that the firework show was postponed for a few hours. But we waited it out, and were pleased with the fabulous firework show.

I guess from the mouth of babes!

36 weeks 4 days

Lily and Mommy...36 weeks

We are moving right along....slowly and with a slight waddle. :)

I am currently 36 weeks 4 days...Leia is STILL BREECH!! This child needs to turn already. If she was in position, I'm sure she'd be close to making her debut. The amount of contractions that I have had this week is vast! But we need her head down to make a difference. She was vertical (upside down the wrong way)..now she is diagonal...I'm waiting for her to pull out some fancy Jedi moves.

The Dr wants to give her 1 more week to get into position. If she's not at the next appointment, then we are going to schedule an External Cephalic Version --> In this procedure hands are placed on the mother's abdomen around the baby. The baby is moved up and away from the pelvis and gently turned in several steps from breech, to a sideways position, and finally to a head first presentation. I've heard it's painful, but most times, it works. Either way, it's worth a shot. I'd rather not have a c- section.

This past weekend was our baby shower. Leia received of variety of cute clothes, tutus, and blankets...and LOTS of diapers! :)

35 wks!

Here's my Lilyann....she is really enjoying having mommy all to herself while Dakota is at school. Hope she doesn't get jealous when Baby Leia arrives (roughly 3 more weeks!!) Sitting on the porch having her yogurt after we dropped Kota off at school!

Here is Lily's latest art....she loves markers...and I let her have her fun with them til I realized that not all princess markers are created equal.....they aren't washable like the Crayola Markers...and I have proof on my coffee table :(

Mommy and Lily.....Here I am at 35 wks! I'm so ready for baby to be here...but I'm willing to wait a bit longer since baby STILL HAS NOT turned head down. She needs to get with the program already!!! So....offer your suggestions on how to get baby to turn...I'm all ears!
