Being home is such sweet medicine

We are on day 2 of being home from the hospital. Lily has accepted the change pretty good. She likes having the change of scenery...she cant seem to take it all in fast enough. The last 2 nights have gone smoothly. Jed and I are getting used to 2 kids again...from being in the hospital for almost 2 weeks, you lose your groove (or at least, I did).

Dakota woke up this morning calling for Lily...and then he wanted to be in her bed and talking to her. Lily loves her brother...she was trying to talk to him.

Lily is still on the feeding tube...it is a continual pump. We go to the pediatrician tomorrow for a weigh in for Lily...hoping for more than 9 lbs and 3 oz (that was her last weigh in on Monday)

The girls and I have taken on a sick bug, so seeing Lily's pictures with Dakota is indeed "sweet medicine." It's good to see that even with a feeding tube, it hasn't taken away from her "cute" looks :).

We will continually pray for Lily's weight gain even ad mist our sickness.

On the curiosity note, does Lily need to sleep propped up? I noticed even in the hospital pictures, they had her crib on an incline. Is that to help the feeding tube?

Hope you all get to feeling better...Yes! Lily has to sleep propped up. It helps keep the formula down because of her reflux and the feeding tube (the feeding tube holds open that flap in the esophagus that usually closes when nothing is in the way(like the tube) and keeps the food down.) So she is getting used to be propped up all the time. She slept last night in the swing...and that is the best she has slept since she has been home.

Thank the Lord for swings. Mercy spent the better part of her beginning life in it. It came with us everywhere. We'll pray she does well in it tonight.
